When the corona virus first struck, we thought we would lie down quietly and wait for it to end. But, now that we’ve learned how adaptable singles can be and that – until there are “clear” and other solutions – you are very open to “dating from a social distance”.
We are so excited – and more than a little proud – that we are adjusting! Our phones are ringing, new customers are signing up, and we have fixed dozens of distortions using zoom. Although it is not yet time to “blow up the corona (beer)”, 1-on-1 matchmaking sets zoom dates and allows our singles to swap phone numbers.
Eight at eight Hosted a weekly Zoom Happy Hours that were surprisingly fun (or not surprising?)! We’ve already covered topics like Tiger King, blind love and showing off your pets. In June, we hope to host picnics outside in Bekahd, Brookhaven and / or Midtown. It will still be “bring your own drink, food, blanket or chair” – and a restrained energy!
We are also open to your ideas for our dating at a social distance. Because it is still a liquid state, our membership is frozen in place until the normal business resumes. All of these remote dating events are designed to keep you in the dating game – at no cost to you.
Sometimes it was stressful mostly because Jennifer kept asking, “What’s the plan?” The truth is, we are not really sure, but – as always! – It will include a meeting and blessing of singles. Stay safe, stay positive, and please ask if we can help. I mean it – because helping you is our mission!
