Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (well, all the Americans celebrating)! Or as Joanie says: Hapee Sacse Giveen! What is everyone doing for India Day? Like a lot of people, our plans were canceled at the last minute, and it’s just the four of us being home today. I’ve been baking and cooking for the last few days, and today I only have turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. We’re going to watch Macy’s parade (on TV this year), the kids are so excited for the dog show, and I hope I can squeeze in a long walk sometime, or even a short walk if that’s all I have time for (I tried to walk around five miles a day).
This year I am grateful for vaccines! I am grateful that my children will receive their second dose tomorrow and that in a few more weeks we will be able to return to a more normal life. (That means there will be no more threats of quarantine at school, Drew and I are going to get a babysitter and go out again !, and the kids can go to indoor birthday parties and dates to play and sleep! In February, we leave the country and a beach vacation almost two years after canceling our trip to Mexico!) Grateful for friends and family and good food and a warm home and cats and dogs and everyone who has sacrificed this year for the benefit of the public and helped I maintain the same belief in humanity when there are often so many reasons to doubt it. And as always, I’m grateful to you, for being here, for contributing to this little community, for making me feel a part of something even during all the months I was / was isolated at home. Thanks! And Happy Sachs Javin.
